 2008 SUMMER STAFF POSITIONS

  • PRIMARY STAFF POSITIONS

    • 11 Female Cabin Counselors

    • 8 Male Cabin Counselors

    • 3 Certified Life Guards/Dishwashers

    • 1 male & 1 Female Lead Maintenance/Housekeeping

    • 1 Male & 1 Female Jr Maintenance/Housekeeping

    • 2 Food Service

  • TIME FRAME

    • Two weeks training - Beginning June 1

    • Five weeks camp - June 15 - July 18

    • Additional Program & Maintenance/Housekeeping Staff will be needed for July 20 - August 8

  • 2008 WEEKLY COMPENSATION                                

    • 1st year Senior Cabin Counselor, Life Guard, Lead Program Staff, Food Service - $160/wk

    • All returning Senior Cabin Counselor, Life Guard, Lead Program Staff, Food Service - $190/wk

    • Junior Cabin Counselors will be volunteers but will be invited to attend Sr High Camp at no cost.

    • Lead Maintenance/Housekeeping - $200/wk

    • Junior Maintenance/Housekeeping - $100/wk

  • PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

 SPECIFIC ROLE  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • SENIOR CABIN COUNSELOR

    • Must be at least ONE YEAR post high school and at least 19 years of age

    • Will give leadership and guidance to campers assigned to their cabin

    • Will enthusiastically participate in all activities alongside their campers

    • Will be an evangelist and spiritual mentor, always striving to share Christ with their campers through word and deed.

    • Will develop & lead cabin devotions as scheduled

    • Will strive to meet one-on-one with each camper throughout the week

    • Will pray for their campers while at camp and following

    • Will discipline campers as needed, with the assistance of the Program Director

    • Will be willing to use personal skills and talents to help in camp programming throughout the week, i.e., sports, music, drama, crafts, etc.

    • Will attend daily counselor meetings and weekly staff orientations meetings

    • Will work together with all counselors and staff with a Christ-like love, encouraging one another and building each other up.


  • JUNIOR STAFF

    • Must be at least 16 years of age

    • Will serve on a rotating basis in all areas of camp ministry--cabin counselors, kitchen, and maintenance.

    • Will enthusiastically participate in all activities alongside their campers

    • Will be an evangelist and spiritual mentor, always striving to share Christ with their campers through word and deed.

    • Will be willing to use personal skills and talents to help in camp programming throughout the week, i.e., sports, music, drama, crafts, etc.

    • Will strive to share Christ with the campers through word and deed

    • Will attend daily counselor meetings and weekly staff orientations meetings

    • Will work together with all counselors and staff with a Christ-like love, encouraging one another and building each other up.


  • LIFE GUARD

    • Must be at least 16 years of age

    • Must have certification in LIFE GUARDING, CPR for the PROFESSIONAL RESCUER, and STANDARD FIRST AID.

    • Will serve at the pool as swimming instructor and lifeguard, and at the waterfront as a lifeguard depending on the need

    • Will enthusiastically participate in all activities alongside their campers

    • Will strive to share Christ with the campers through word and deed

    • Will discipline campers as needed, with the assistance of the Program Director

    • Will be willing to use personal skills and talents to help in camp programming throughout the week, i.e., sports, music, drama, crafts, etc.

    • Will attend daily counselor meetings and weekly staff orientations meetings

    • Will work together with all counselors and staff with a Christ-like love, encouraging one another and building each other up.


  • LEAD MAINTENANCE/HOUSEKEEPING

    • Must be at least one year post high school

    • Will serve in a variety of areas, including: 

      • Clean, repair, and upgrade buildings, pool, grounds, and camp equipment

      • Setup buildings and equipment for program events

      • Assist with store operation, preparation, and stocking

    • Will strive to share Christ with the campers through word and deed

    • Will work together with all counselors and staff with a Christ-like love, encouraging one another and building each other up.


  • FOOD SERVICE

    • Must be at least 16 years of age

    • Will provide support to the food serve staff as prep-cook, dishwasher, or dining hall attendant, including food preparation and kitchen and dining hall set-up and clean-up

    • Will strive to share Christ with the campers through word and deed

    • Will work together with all counselors and staff with a Christ-like love, encouraging one another and building each other up.
